HRC has been retained
by the City of Wixom to assist in implementing its Soil
Erosion and Sedimentation Control (SESC) Program.
Sediment has become one of Michigan's greatest sources of
water pollution with construction being the major cause
of this pollution. The intent of the program is to
minimize erosion and control sediment by requiring appropriate
soil erosion and sedimentation control measures on construction
sites.
Wixom is one of
15 municipal enforcing agencies in Oakland County.
HRC helps facilitate the SESC program by attending pre-construction
meetings to discuss soil erosion requirements, performing
weekly site inspections at construction sites within the
City, generating violation letters to permittees, performing
permit and dewatering reviews, generating quarterly status
reports to the City, as well as providing guidance
on the City's revised Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control
Ordinance.
HRC staff are
State Certified under the Natural Resources and Environmental
Protection Act, to provide the consulting services necessary
to administer and enforce the soil erosion and sedimentation
control program.
