The project included
preparation of a stormwater management plan for the entire
City, consisting of eleven (11) square miles.
Field
investigation and mapping were conducted to identify and
evaluate the existing drainage system. Areas that
had been experiencing problems were identified and noted
on a new drainage system map. A computer model was
generated utilizing SWMM to simulate the existing conditions
and was calibrated to agree with the identified problem
areas.
Alternatives
were developed, including open channel improvements, enclosures,
storm water storage facility and rerouting of drainage systems
and evaluated.
