August 5, 2009 Update
All pavement improvements have been installed. The majority of the disturbed areas have been restored with grass seed, mulch and topsoil, and the damaged sprinklers have been repaired.
Over the next couple weeks, the Contractor will be working on general clean up, finishing up punch list items, and a few more minor repairs to sprinklers.
At this time, the project is nearly complete. The City of Wixom would like to thank all its residents for their patience during this project. It is because of the wonderful residents and businesses in the City of Wixom that we can continue to bring successful road projects to the City each year.

July 12, 2009 Update
All concrete curb & gutter and sidewalk work was completed last week. The contractor has installed two additional drainage structures at the west dead end to improve drainage in that area. All pavement has been removed.
This week, the Contractor is beginning to place the stone base on the road. They are encountering more areas of poor soil than expected, which have to be removed and filled in with stone. Stone placement will likely be completed by the end of this week. Fine grading of the stone will take place at the beginning of next week, and asphalt paving is tentatively scheduled (weather permitting) for the end of next week.

June 22, 2009 Update
The Contractor has removed and replaced the first half of the damaged curb & gutter and sidewalk. The replacement is being done in two phases to maintain traffic to driveways while the concrete cures.
This week, the Contractor will begin removal of the remaining sections of curb & gutter and sidewalk scheduled to be repaired. Some additional storm sewer will be installed on the west end of the project, at the dead end. Curb & gutter will be poured at the beginning next week, and the road is tentatively scheduled to be removed at the start of the following week.
The Contractor’s tentative schedule has been updated, incorporating all weather delays. Please be understanding as the Contractor continues to work. He will continue to try to minimize the inconvenience to traffic and residents, but some delays will occur. Thank you for your patience.

June 8, 2009 Update
The Contractor began work last week with the removal and replacement of the damaged storm sewer at the intersection of the boulevard and the road. Sections of curb and gutter that are planned to be replaced on the south and west sides of the road were removed on Friday, and will carry over into today. The mailbox that was in conflict with the curb removals was temporarily relocated. The temporary mailbox for the addresses of 49961 thru 49993 Helfer was moved approximately 300 feet to the south, and is located just south of 49963 Helfer.
Subject to weather conditions, the new curb and gutter will be installed on Monday of next week. The Contractor will continue with sidewalk and curb removals this week to prepare for Monday.
Construction photos have been posted to this website. Additional photos will be posted as they are taken.
Also, please try to minimize trips to the dumpsters during construction hours. If possible, residents should try to deliver trash to dumpsters before 7 AM or after 7 PM to minimize their own inconvenience, as well as the Contractor’s.
