October 11, 2010 Update

The majority of construction on Sibley Court has been completed.  The street has been successfully paved and lawn restoration is complete.  The Contractor will be working onsite one more time to remove and replace all of the street signs, and complete a few other minor punchlist items.

If there are any items of work that were impacted due to the construction, and need to be restored to their original condition, please contact Joe Heintz at HRC immediately (phone number – 248-454-6574).  Some examples of work items that may have been impacted due to the construction are:

  • A mailbox was moved to the opposite side of a driveway during construction and has not been moved back.
  • Sprinkler head that was damaged by construction activities (catch basin installation, curb repairs) and has not been repaired.
  • Lawn area that was disturbed due to grading or manhole rehabilitation that has not been restored.

The project is planned for final completion by the end of October, so please let us know as soon as possible if there are any outstanding items of work.

We would like to thank everyone for their continued patience and all the positive feedback we have received on this project.  If you have any questions, comments, or just want to let us know your opinion of the project overall, please click on the “Project Feedback” button on the right side of the page.

August 20, 2010 Update

The existing pavement is being removed on Sibley Court today.  Next week, the Contractor will begin making some minor drainage improvements, which will include: reconstructing the catch basin on the west side of the road in front of the cul-de-sac, and installing a new drainage structure at Maple Road to resolve the standing water issues at the entrance to Sibley Court.  Once this work is complete, the Contractor will begin excavation of the existing base material, installation of the geogrid reinforcement layer and placement the new limestone aggregate.  After the new aggregate has been graded and compacted, the asphalt can be installed.

The above work is estimated to take approximately two weeks, and is expected to be completed by Labor Day weekend, subject to poor weather or any other unforeseen circumstances.  Any lawn restoration and street sign replacement will take place after all road work is complete.

Traffic will be maintained at all times during construction, but delays will occur.  During the excavation process, residents will have limited access to their driveways.  We recommend that neighbors coordinate sharing driveways during this time.  Advanced notice will be given when your driveway access is going to be impacted by the construction.

Thank you in advance for your patience.  If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please click on the “Project Contacts” button on the right side of the page, or leave feedback by clicking on “Project Feedback” also on the right of the page.

May 20, 2010 Update

The public info meeting for residents on Sibley Court was held today.  The scope of work, contractor’s schedule, method of maintaining traffic, and the important of construction site safety were discussed.  Project flyers containing responsible party contact information were handed out to all attendees.  These handouts are available on this website.  A copy of the construction plans was also available for residents to view and address any specific issues.
