October 11, 2010 Update
The majority of construction in Wexford Mews has been completed. All roads have been paved, and lawn restoration is nearly complete. The Contractor is working diligently to put the finishing touches on lawn restoration and sprinkler systems.
Items of work that have yet to be completed are the removal and replacement of all street signs within the subdivision, and a few minor punchlist items (cleaning catch basins, removing plastic wrap from new ADA tiles, etc.).
If there are any items of work that were impacted due to the construction, and need to be restored to their original condition, please contact Joe Heintz at HRC immediately (phone number – 248-454-6574). Some examples of work items that may have been impacted due to the construction are:
- A mailbox was moved to the opposite side of a driveway during construction and has not been moved back.
- Sprinkler head that was damaged by construction activities (installation of sidewalk, curb repairs) and has not been repaired.
- Lawn area that was disturbed due to grading or sidewalk installation that has not been restored.
The project is planned for final completion by the end of October, so please let us know as soon as possible if there are any outstanding items of work.
We would like to thank everyone for their continued patience and all the positive feedback we have received on this project. If you have any questions, comments, or just want to let us know your opinion of the project overall, please click on the “Project Feedback” button on the right side of the page.

August 10, 2010 Update
The leveling course of asphalt has been installed in Stage 2-A, which includes Huntingdon Drive, Downham Drive, and Corran Drive between Huntingdon and Downham. Once again, many wet areas were discovered during excavation, and edge drain was installed in the subgrade to encourage positive drainage.
This week, the Contractor is working on excavation and installation of geogrid and aggregate in Stage 2-B, which is the final area of pavement removal and replacement. Stage 2-B includes: Wexford Drive, Willowicke Drive, and Rothbury Drive. This work will likely be completed by the end of next week. Paving is scheduled for the beginning of the week of August 23.
The wearing (top) course of asphalt will be installed in Stage 2-B, 2-A, and the northern area of Stage 1-A on Thursday of this week. If you live in this area, please see the informational flyer found here.
The pavement will be milled in Stage 3 (Devonshire Drive) during the end of next week. Any necessary base repairs will be made in the existing asphalt after milling during the week of August 23. The sidewalks that have been removed at the intersections in this area will be installed next week.
Once the above work is completed, the remaining streets in the subdivision will receive the wearing course of asphalt. This is tentatively scheduled for the end of the week of August 23. An informational flyer will be passed out prior to this work taking place, to inform residents of what they can expect during paving.
After Labor Day, the Contractor will begin lawn restoration. Please note that the construction specifications do not allow sod to be installed in August, as the watering and maintenance requirements are too high due to the summer heat. During this time, the Contractor will also be removing and replacing all street signs to meet new reflectivity standards.

July 19, 2010 Update
The Contractor has completed the removal of the entire roadway in Stage 1-A and 1-B (please see the revised staging plan found here). Stage 1-A has been excavated, Geogrid reinforcement and aggregate base have been installed, and it is ready to be paved. During excavation, several wet areas in the subgrade were discovered. Edge drain was installed in these areas to better facilitate positive drainage and reduce the potential for future pavement failures. The Contractor is working on completing the same scope of work in Stage 1-B this week. He expects to be completed by Friday, weather permitting.
The base course of Asphalt pavement is planned for installation in all of Stage 1 beginning on Friday of this week. This work is expected to be completed on Saturday, pending any unforeseen circumstances.
Once the leveling course of asphalt has been installed in Stage 1, the pavement removal in Stage 2-A can commence. This work is scheduled for Monday, July 26. Streets included in Stage 2-A are: Huntingdon Drive, Downham Drive, and Corran Drive between Huntingdon and Downham. Once the pavement is removed, the existing road base will be excavated, edge drain installed, geogrid reinforcement layer installed, and new 21AA aggregate will be placed and compacted. It is estimated that this work will take approximately two weeks to complete.
When the Stage 2-A work is completed, the Contractor will do the same work in Stage 2-B, which will include: Wexford Drive, Willowicke Drive, Rothbury Drive, and Grasmere Lane west of Huntingdon. It is estimate that this work can be completed in another two weeks.
When all of the above work has been completed on Stage 2, the entire Stage 2 area will be based in. This is tentatively scheduled for the last week of August and first week of September before Labor Day.
After the leveling course of asphalt has been installed throughout the entire subdivision, lawn restoration will begin, which will likely be in mid September. Please note that the construction specifications do not allow sod to be installed in August, as the watering and maintenance requirements are too high due to the summer heat.
Once the leveling course of asphalt has been installed in Stage 1 of the project, drivers may want to use these roads for access to Charms Road while construction is taking place in Stage 2. Thank you for your continued patience during this project.

| July 6, 2010 Update
The Contractor has finished removing all sidewalk and curb in the eastern half of the subdivision (Stage 1-A and 1-B of construction). All damaged drainage structures in the roadway in this area have been rehabilitated. The concrete subcontractor has started replacing the gaps in the curb. This work will be finished this week, as well as replacing the sidewalks at intersections that have been removed.
Pavement removal of the roadway in the southeast area of the subdivision (Stage 1-A) is scheduled for Wednesday, July 7. This will include: Weyhill Drive, Grasmere Lane from Huntingdon to Glandore Court, and Glandore Court. Please see the revised staging plan found here. Once the pavement is removed, the existing road base will be excavated, edge drain installed, geogrid reinforcement layer installed, and new 21AA aggregate will be placed and compacted. It is estimated that this work will be completed within two weeks, depending on weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
Pavement removal of the roadway in the northeast area of the subdivision (Stage 1-B) is scheduled for Thursday, July 15. This will include: Grasmere Lane north of Glandore Court, Woodview Drive, and Corran Drive from Huntingdon east to the cul-de-sac. The same items of work completed in Stage 1-A will completed in this Stage. This work will also take approximately two weeks to complete from the start of the pavement removal.
Once the aggregate has been placed, graded and compacted in both Stages, the first lift of asphalt will be installed. Based on the timeline described in the paragraphs above, it is estimated that the asphalt will be installed during the first week of August. The Contractor will then begin pavement removals in Stage 2 of the subdivision, which includes: Huntingdon, Corran Drive, Downham Drive, Rothbury Drive, Wexford Drive, and Willowicke Drive.
When the pavement has been removed, dusty conditions may be created by vehicles driving on the exposed aggregate road base. The Contractor will control the dust as best he can with applications of water and sodium chloride, but some dust should be expected, especially during continuous days of dry weather.

June 21, 2010 Update
Over the past week, the Contractor has been working on removing sections of curb and driveway slabs for repairs to catch basins and manholes. Many of the drainage structures in the roadway are in very poor shape and required extensive repair. Sidewalk at several intersections has also been removed in preparation for the proposed sidewalk realignment.
This week, the Contractor will continue working on sidewalk and curb removals, and rehabilitation of drainage structures. The concrete subcontractor is scheduled for the end of this week or early next week to begin installing the new sidewalk and repairing driveways and curb sections that have been removed.
A survey crew will be onsite this week putting stakes in the ground for the new sidewalk. Please note that the stakes will not be placed at the exact location of the sidewalk. An offset of five to ten feet is used for staking, so that the stakes are not knocked down when the Contractor is grading for the sidewalk. This means that the stakes will be five to ten feet closer to the house than the sidewalk will actually be installed.
Three out of four sewer repairs have been completed. The Contractor will be making the final sewer repair on Wexford today, and expects to have the trench backfilled by the end of the day tomorrow. The dewatering equipment, including pumps, generators, straw bales, and some of the other heavy equipment will be removed after this work is complete.
Please feel free to provide feedback on this website or on the project overall by clicking on the “Project Feedback” button on the right side of the page. We are interested in improving this website in the future, and if you find any important information is missing or incomplete, please let us know.

June 7, 2010 Update
The Contractor has started construction with the sanitary sewer repair on Corran Court last week. Due to equipment failure, the trench was not able to be backfilled as soon as was hoped. The Contractor plans to finish backfilling the trench today, and will move on to the next sewer repair on Downham Drive in the next couple days. The final two sewer repairs on Wexford Drive and Rothbury Drive will begin once the ground water has been lowered below the proposed repair. This will likely happen by the end of this week or beginning of the next week.
Sawcutting for the driveways, curb and sidewalk repairs will also begin in the next day or two. If you see a white line drawn on your driveway or sidewalk, it means that this area will be removed and replaced to make repairs to the manhole structures. Any sidewalk or curb marked to be removed at intersections will be for the sidewalk realignment to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The removal of pavement in these areas is planned to start near the end of this week, and will continue into the next week.
Thank you for your continued patience during this difficult time. If you have any questions or concerns, please click on the “Project Contacts” button on the right side of the page to contact one of the staff members involved in this project.
