HRC Announces 2009 Award Winning Projects

April 3, 2009

HRC is proud to announce our most recent awards including the Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner (OCWRC) Combined Sewer Tunnel Survey and Inspection Project which garnered the APWA Michigan 2009 Project of the Year Award in the Structures Less than $500,000 category; and the City of Livonia Water Capital Improvement Program, earning the APWA Michigan 2009 Project of the Year Award in the Environment $2-$10 Million category.

HRC provided surveying and inspection services for the OCWRC Combined Sewer Tunnel Survey and Inspection Project on behalf of the Twelve Towns Relief Drainage Board.  The two major goals of the project were to inspect and survey over 8 miles of combined sewer/built-in tunnel, built between the 1920s and 1960s, with diameters ranging from 66 to 180 inches.

The Livonia project utilized a form of trenchless technology that originated in Europe called Pre-Chlorinated Pipe Bursting which proved to be the most cost-effective method for the Livonia project.  HRC is recognized as a Top 50 Trenchless Technology Design Firm.
