Myllyoja Honored by Clinton River Watershed Council
April 1, 2009

Robert Myllyoja was honored at the March 26, 2009 Clinton River Watershed Council (CRWC) Annual Meeting & Awards Dinner as a recipient of the distinguished Johanna Roskopp Award. The CRWC selected Rob for his tireless volunteer efforts to further their mission and vision to protect, enhance and celebrate the Clinton River. Rob's contributions included bioengineering techniques and hands-on assistance to stabilize a road side bank of the Clinton River along the Paint Creek tributary. With his aid, a local scout was able to complete his Eagle Scout project requirements before the onset of Michigan's harsh winter weather. The project involved securing fish structures in the Paint Creek with rebar specially retooled by Rob.
Rob is a valued member of HRC's Environmental Engineering Department's Watershed Management Unit, where he is responsible for stream analysis including fluvial geomorphology investigation, stormwater design standards and ordinances, watershed plans, erosion and sedimentation control designs, BMP implementation, stream restoration, and water quality studies. Rob completed extensive training under Dave Rosgen, PhD and holds a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, and an Environmental Technology Diploma from Lambton College in Sarnia, Ontario.
