Silver Parkway Resurfacing

Project Description:

The City of Fenton has secured funds through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (A.R.R.A.) to rehabilitate Silver Parkway, from Owen Road to Silver Lake Road.  The scope of this project includes milling the existing asphalt pavement surface, and placing a two inch asphalt overlay.  In areas where serious deterioration has occurred in the existing pavement, the pavement and aggregate base will be completely removed and replaced, and underdrain will be installed to facilitate positive drainage of the stormwater away from the road base.  Most of the existing curb and gutter throughout the project is in fairly good shape, but some localized curb repairs will be made at drainage structures and other locations.

The driveway approaches will be removed and replaced, as well as the curb and gutter along the radii.  Driveways may be shut down temporarily while this work is taking place, but special consideration has been given to maintain access through parking lot interconnections and adjacent driveways.

All of the existing sidewalk ramps at driveway crossings will be upgraded to meet the current standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (A.D.A.).  This will include the removal and replacement of each sidewalk ramp and installation of raised dome A.D.A. tiles at each ramp.  Also, some sidewalk gaps will be filled to form a continuous pathway.

The construction cost is estimated to be $1,182,000.
